Rules for Chats with Special Guests
The Criminal Minds Fanatic website is pleased to be able to have special guests from Criminal Minds join us in chat on occasion. These chats are announced in advance and the password will be changed for each special chat. Instructions on how to obtain the password will be posted on the Criminal Minds Fanatic Blog
To make these chats as easy and comfortable as possible for our guests, the following rules are in place--and they may be modified depending on who our guest is for a particular chat. Jill and Lori will review the rules before the chat begins--you need to be in the chat room 15 minutes prior to the chat start time.
1. If you are late joining the chat with a special guest, please, do not say "hello" to the room as it's disruptive; we can see you're there--your name will show up on the left hand side. If you have any questions, please IM Jill, Lori, or Laura. This can be done by double clicking on the user name in the names list on the left hand side.
2. If you have to leave before the chat is over, please do not announce it in the general chat as it is disruptive.
3. In every chat, we will have a Question and/or Line Mod who is keeping track of people who want to ask questions and what order they'll be asking them in. The Mod will let the room know the order that people will be asking questions in and will prompt you when it is your turn to ask. Please, IM the Question Mod to let her know you want to ask a question--but be aware that she'll be very busy, so please don't engage her in discussion.
4. Have your question ready before it is your turn--either have it typed into the chat or you can have wordpad/notepad/a word processing program open and type it in there and then copy and paste the question in at the appropriate time. If your question isn't ready in what the Mod feels is an appropriate length of time, she will move onto the next person.
5. Please do not ask spoiler type questions. If you do ask a spoiler type question without realising it, then our guests will say that they can't answer the question. Do not ask questions about fanfic (it's considered very bad manners to bring fanfic up to anyone associated with a show). No questions about the guest(s)'s personal lives.
6. Under no circumstances is anyone in the chat to IM the special guest(s). They will not reply and anyone found to be doing so will be immediately booted from the chat and will not be allowed back in for the duration of that chat.
7. Absolutely no transcripts are to be made of any of the chats, for any reason whatsoever. If you do make a transcript and we find out, you WILL be banned from all future chats.
